Born and raised in the heart of Appalachia, Ryan Dye is the creative engine behind Twister Creek Media. With over a decade of experience behind the lens and behind the scenes, Ryan wears many hats — videographer, photographer, drone pilot, graphic designer, and social media strategist.

Armed with a B.A. in Multimedia Journalism from Virginia Tech, plus an FAA Part 107 drone certification, Ryan has spent 12+ years capturing powerful visuals and helping brands, businesses, and communities share their stories with heart and authenticity. From shooting high school football games under the Friday night lights to crafting sleek marketing campaigns, his work is always grounded in purpose and his deep Appalachian roots.

Before launching Twister Creek Media, Ryan served as a producer at WCYB in Bristol, telling the stories of the region he loves while keeping its communities informed. His knowledge of the Appalachian Highlands stretches from Ewing to Radford — and his passion for its people runs even deeper.

When he’s not behind a camera or chasing the perfect drone shot, Ryan’s probably cruising Southwest Virginia backroads with his family, bowling a few frames, or cheering on the Hokies (or the Panthers, or Hornets, or Charlotte FC… you get the idea). He lives in Bristol, Virginia, with his wife Jennifer and sons JP and James.
